Norma Lee Wilson

Died: Aug. 24, 2013

Norma Lee Wilson, 76, of Newport formerly of Afton, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon at home surrounded by her family. Her passing was a result of a lifetime of lung problems and a diagnosis of lung cancer earlier this year.

Norma Lee was a longtime resident of the Afton community and attended Afton United Methodist Church.

She loved canning, cooking, and gardening.

Until her move to Newport, she could be found every Saturday morning at the Farmers Market. Her canned and baked goods were her pride and joy, along with her great-granddaughter, Savannah.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She continued to care for and advise her family and friends up until her passing.

Survivors include daughter: Rhonda Carter of Baileyton; a daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and WL Neas of Newport; a son and daughter-in-law: Shane and Una Seckler of Chuckey; a daughter: Shannon Clark of Greeneville; her grandchildren: Beth Dziubla and husband, Pete, Mollie Roberts, Rachel Mawyer, Julie, James, and Katie Clark, Alison Buckner and husband, David, and Tory Jones; her great-granddaughters: Renesmee Buckner and Savannah Dziubla; a sister-in-law: Charlotte Wilson; a sister: Linda Justis; a sister and brother-in-law: Susan and Keith Evans; along with many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Hazel Wilson; a brother: Steve Wilson; and a brother-in-law: Lanny Justis.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, with the service to follow in the funeral home chapel.

A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stone Dam UM Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be WL Neas, Keith Evans, Peter Dziubla, Sam Scott, Tim Davis, and Bobby Wilson.

The family expressed special thanks Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care with a heartfelt touch.
