William James "Jimmy" Nickels

Died: Sept. 17, 2013

BRISTOL -- William James "Jimmy" Nickels, age 50, of Bristol, went to be with the Lord Tuesday at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Born June 28, 1963, in Bristol, Jimmy was a graduate of Sullivan Central High School and East Tennessee State University.

He was an employee at Dex One.

Jimmy attended First Presbyterian Church and also visited Discovery Church.

Survivors include his wife: Becky Nickels; his daughters: Kelsea Nickels and Kenzie Nickels; his mother: Jane Nickels; his siblings: Sharon Nickels Ratliff and husband, Jim, Charlie Hedrick Nickels and wife, Melissa Latture Nickels, and Becky Nickels Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hedrick Nickels, and a brother-in-law, Richard "Gibby" Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gordon Turnbull officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Nickels, Ronnie Dotson, Bo Dotson, Joe Harrison, Jim Ratliff, Mark Adkins, David Walker, and Rob Overcast.

Honorary pallbearers will be Will Gilbert, Matt Dotson, Andrew Dotson, Heath Dotson, Eli Dotson, Hunter Harrison, Reece Syndor, and special friends: Dexter Dishner, Tony Webb, Ron Kirk, Ray Evans, Hershel Burden, John Sergi and all the Dex One family of friends.

Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
