Lynn Lee Rader

Died: Oct. 1, 2013

Lynn Lee Rader, 74, of Mosheim, passed away Tuesday morning at his home after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

Born and raised in the Hartman's Chapel Community, he was a son of the late Frank and Lena Melton Rader.

He retired from Kraft Foods/Dairyman.

He loved his family, grandkids, and helping people.

Lynn enjoyed farming, gardening and welding various projects for his friends and neighbors.

In younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending NASCAR races.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Janice Patton Rader; three children: Lori Rader, Terry Rader, and Christi Rader Bolton and her husband, Lynn, all of Mosheim; four grandchildren: Tyler Rader, Megan Rader, Christopher Bolton, and Kylie Sparks; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Betty and John Baxter and Shirley and Eddie Hartman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Myers.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Springs Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Richard Long will officiate. Interment will follow in Brown Springs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be John Baxter, Eddie Hartman, Harold Smith, Ron Randolph, Curtis Holland, David Myers, Danny Myers, and Tim Hartman.

Honorary pallbearers will be his former coworkers at Kraft Foods/Dairyman; Charles Weems; a special friend, Marty Hampton; and his numerous friends throughout the community.

The Rader family extends a special thanks to the caregivers at Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brown Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Hartman's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
