Died: Sept. 30, 2013

LOGANVILLE, Ga. -- David Walter Ford, age 69, of Loganville, passed away Monday.

Mr. Ford retired as vice president and chief financial officer of Holston United Methodist Home for Children in Greeneville, Tenn., with 29 years of service.

He was a graduate of Georgia Tech.

Mr. Ford was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, VFW, and Kiwanis Club in Greeneville.

Mr. Ford is survived by his wife: Diane H. Ford of Loganville; a daughter and son-in-law: Dana and Glen Greer, and grandchildren: Madison Greer and Nickolas Greer, all of Johnson City, Tenn.; a brother: Phillip Ford of Bethlehem; a stepdaughter and her husband: Dana and Greg Gilleland, and stepgrandchildren: Kevin, Emily and Aaron Gilleland, all of Snellville; and a stepson: David Greene, and a stepgranddaughter: Cassie Greene, both of Ormond Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Agnes Pye Ford.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Minister Harold Savage and the Rev. Charles Hutchins will officiate.

Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holston UM Home For Children, P.O. Box 188, Greeneville, TN 37744.
