Sgt. Michael Lee Myers

Died: Sept. 28, 2013

U.S. Army Sgt. Michael Lee Myers was involved in a dirt bike accident on a track in Georgia that tragically claimed his life on Sept. 28.

He was born March 4, 1980, and grew up in Mosheim.

He had a long military career involving multiple and repeat tours in Afghanistan, Kuait and Iraq in which he proudly served in the Global War on Terror.

He was a distinguished Army veteran, who received many ribbons and medals. Our entire family has always been extremely proud of his service and accomplishments.

Michael was a good soul who was always quick to put the needs of others ahead of himself.

Michael left behind many friends and family members who will love him and miss him for eternity.

He is also survived by his four-year-old daughter, Kaelyn Elizabeth Myers, who knows her Daddy is now with the angels in heaven.

Michael's viewing will be held at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Condolences may sent to the Myers family at
