Died: Sept. 20, 2013

Roger Dale Dixon, 69, of Greeneville, passed away at his home on Sept. 20 after a brief illness.

Roger Dale was born in Greeneville on March 4, 1944.

He farmed and worked as an upholsterer for Berkline.

He wrestled professionally and sang for the Upward Bound gospel group. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Roger Dale is survived by his wife: Nannie Kate; three sons: Richard Dale, Roger Dean, and Micheal James Dixon; one daughter: Pamela Kay Cansler; five grandchildren: Deanna Dixon, Bridgette Dixon, Trista Hurd, Tommy Starnes, and Kristin Holmes; and five great-grandchildren: Bradin Baskette, Mikey Hilderbrand, Konner Hurd, Kaylee Baskette, and Jaice Hurd. He is also survived by his cousin: Don Brown, and long-time friends: Charlie Harold, Nickie Parton, Jimmy Reece, and Scott Williamson.

Roger Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Willie Dixon.

The family held a private ceremony to celebrate Roger Dale's life at the family home in Greeneville.

Stetzer Funeral Home of Morristown was in charge of the arrangements.
