JOHNSON CITY -- Paul F. Stover, 87, of Jonesborough, passed away Monday at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 25, 1926, to the late Fred and Amy Stover. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Gene Stover.

Paul loved singing gospel music, farming, and being surrounded by his family.

He was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

Mr. Stover retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center in 1997. He was most recently employed by Morris-Baker Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Joy Campbell Stover; a daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Rodney Thomas; a daughter-in-law: Jill Stover; five grandchildren: Becky Welch (Mark), Sharon Hall (Robert), Beth Bader (Ryan), Chad Thomas (Casey), and Aimee Cantadore (Frankie); 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several cousins.

The family of Paul Stover will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the South Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 E. Oakland Ave., Johnson City.

The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Byron Paddock, minister, officiating. Special music will be provided by Casey Thomas.

Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home to go in procession to Highland Church of Christ Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be: Frankie Cantadore, Earl Anderson, J.D. Hensley, Chad Thomas, Robert Hall, Dean Crumley, Ryan Bader, and Mark Welch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 485 Highland Church Road, Gray, TN 37615.
