Leloma 'Lea' Thacker

Died: Oct. 9, 2013

Leloma "Lea" Thacker, 88, Greeneville, passed away Wednesday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Thacker retired from Eckerd Drug in West Palm Beach, Fla., and owned Thacker's Variety Store in Kenova, W.Va.

She worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory during World War II.

Mrs. Thacker was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband: Homer Thacker; a son: Kenneth and Nancy Thacker of Greeneville; two grandchildren: Stephen Thacker, and Julie and Ben Alexander; three great-grandchildren: Cassandra Alexander, Brandon Alexander, and Jack Alexander; a sister: Fran Jeffers; and two brothers: Frank Trammell and Floyd Trammell.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James R. Trammell and Maud Trammell; a great-grandchild: Breanna Matthews; four brothers: Paul Trammell, Tom Trammell, Joe Trammell, and Robert Trammell; and a sister: Jessie Ruth Trammell.

The family expressed a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Home Health.

Family and friends will gather at 5 p.m. Saturday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, for a prayer and special music service to be held at 6 p.m.
