Bobby Mitchell Blue

Died: Oct. 15, 2013

Bobby Mitchell Blue, 66, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Blue served two years in the U.S. Air Force and two years with Greene County Sheriff's Department.

He graduated from Basic Police Academy and had been a member of the Greeneville Police Department for 31 years, having served as captain for six of those years.

Mr. Blue volunteered a lot of time with the youth football program.

He was an avid arrowhead collector and hunter with special interest in Indian artifacts.

Mr. Blue was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Carmeltia Blue; his parents: L.T. and Lottie Arnett; his grandfather: Hubert Blue; and his grandmothers: Alma Blue and Gladys Arnett.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Cheryl and Ronnie Ryans of Johnson City; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerome and Robin Arnett and Marcellous and Phyllis Rogers of Greeneville; his dear friends: Willie Anderson and Hope Honeycutt; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the downtown chapel with the Rev. C.C. Mills Jr. and the Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will be the members of Mr. Blue's former shift with the Greeneville Police Department.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Joe Anderson, Jimmy Stokely, Craig Fillers, Terry Cannon, Tim Ward, Aaron Rogers, Robert Arnett, Marcellous Rogers Jr., Walter Manuel, Warren Harton, and Wayne Harton.
