Died: Oct. 17, 2013

Minnis Ralph Seay, 62, of Midway, passed away Thursday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Ralph was a small engine mechanic and a jack-of-all-trades.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years: Doreta Seay of the home; five children and their spouses: Billy and Angie Weeks of Russellville, Candice Lee of Midway, Penny and Gary Harville of Tazewell, Laura Everhart, and Cathy and Tony Voiles of McDonald; a sister: Rachel Murdock of Mohawk; a brother: David Seay of Morristown; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Kathleen Key, Doris and Hubert Metcalf, and Louise and James Harris of Greeneville, and Nell and Charles Ramsey of Midway; his brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: J.R. Miser of Whitesburg and Williard and Beverly Miser of Midway; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late J.B. and Bonnie Seay and was preceded in death by a daughter: Ralphina Seay.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Community Baptist Church with interment in New Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Greg Douthat and the Rev. Hubert Metcalf will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Ron Burrell, James Debord, Randy Bledsoe, Joe Metcalf, Lynn Harris, Dakota Price, Dale Harris, and Kyle Key.

The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be sent to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
