Died: Nov. 10, 2013

James Franklin Davis, 75, of Greeneville, died Sunday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

His occupation was agriculture, and he worked at the University of Tennessee Experiment Station.

Mr. Davis was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

He sang in the Gospel Airs Gospel Quartet.

Survivors include a sister: Willie Martin of Greeneville; a niece: Cheree Davis of Indianapolis, Ind.; nephews: James Henry Davis and Jason Champion of Greeneville, Tracy Champion of Nashville, and Tyrell Davis, and Jaquay Davis and wife, K.C., of Greeneville; special cousins: Paul Barner and John Barner of Greeneville; and special friends:Nathan Fields, Bobby Dabbs, and Tony Moody of Greeneville.

He was the son of the late Henry Davis and Mary Barner Davis and was preceded in death by two sisters: Priscilla Davis and Mary Josephine Gillespie; a brother: John Henry Davis Jr.; and a niece: Peggy Champion.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

The Rev. Albert Davis will officiate.

A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pruitt Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jaquay Davis, Tyrell Davis, Jason Champion, Tracy Champion, Trey Anderson, and Derrick Bruce.
