Died: Nov. 20, 2013

Dale E. Gardner, 72, of Gardner Lane, Greeneville, died early Wednesday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Gardner attended Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church for as long as his health permitted.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Rick and Miriam Shackleford; two grandchildren: Jessica McKay and Jada McKay; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Junior and Wanda Shackleford; a sister-in-law: Ann Taylor; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

He was the son of the late Doyle and Nellie Gardner and was preceded in death by his wife: Mary E. Gardner; and a sister: Edythe Compton.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 p.m. in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.

The Rev. Paul Reagon and the Rev. Mike Young will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to New Lebanon Cemetery for a 10 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Mark Shackleford, Brian Shackleford, David Shackleford, Roger Britton, and Charles Britton.
