Imogene Rednour Mathes

Died: Dec. 15, 2013

ERWIN -- Imogene Rednour Mathes, age 61, of Cross Drive, Erwin, formerly of Greene County, went home to be with the Lord at 9:35 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Born in Greene County, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Georgia Lee Myers Rednour.

Mrs. Mathes attended West Park Street Church.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Mrs. Mathes is survived by a daughter: Christine Rice and husband, Eric, of Jonesborough; two granddaughters: Hannah Rice and Caitlyn Kirkendall; one grandson: Eric Rice II; two brothers: Ronnie Rednour and wife, Mary, and Herman Rednour Jr. and wife, Lois; three sisters: Deanna Catalfamo and husband, Joe, Barbara Messer and husband, Jerry, and Mary Katherine Feezell and husband, Johnny; a sister-in-law: Frances Rednour; and her boyfriend: John Rackley, all of Greene County; her very special pet: Bella; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew: Frankie Catalfamo of Greene County.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Mathes, who passed away in 2001; two brothers: Alvin Rednour and R.J. Rednour; and one sister: Helen Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Erwin Memorial Funeral Home, 1015 N. Main Ave., Erwin, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Nick Bailey and Pastor Parker Street will officiate.

Special music will be provided by the Rev. Nick Bailey and Inez Chandler.

Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to travel in procession to Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
