Died: Dec. 18, 2013

Norman Elgin Hensley, 78, of the Horse Creek Community, passed away Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Hensley was a retired concrete finisher.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Kate Bowens Hensley; a son: Junior Hensley and daughter-in-law Barbara; grandchildren: Clarissa and Brandon Hensley; several nieces and nephews; special nieces: Gail Riddle and Judy Fellers; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Susie and Dick Shelton of Mosheim, Mary and Ray Metcalf and Lynn Bowens, all of the Camp Creek Community, and Frank Bowens of the Sunnyside Community.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Powell and Hazel Hensley; grandson: Matthew Landers; five sisters: Revonda Williams, Ruth Garland, Frieda Duncan, Lillian Helton, and Delta Riddle; and five brothers: Ed Hensley, Clarence Hensley, Hubert Hensley, Delmas Fay Hensley, and Arnold Hensley.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. today at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Horse Creek Mission Church with interment in Union Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Bowens and Lynn Bowens will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Earl Shelton, Ross Metcalf, Ray Metcalf, Brandon Hensley, Junior Hensley, and Wayne Shelton.
