Died: Jan. 6, 2014

Iva Mae Morgan Hensley Beals, 98, passed away Monday at Laughlin HealthCare Center.

She was a homemaker and attended Bridges Chapel Church of God.

Mrs. Beals was known as the butterfly lady and for her ability to tell limericks.

She was the spelling bee champ at Laughlin HealthCare.

Survivors include six children and spouses: Charmie Ann Stevens of Fort Myers, Fla., Carol Morgan of Shalimar, Fla., and Tommy Rueben Morgan and wife, Trula, Nancy Griffin and husband, Ken, Sue Cox and husband, David, and Lila Hux and husband, Jeff, all of Greeneville; two stepchildren: Howard Beals of Jonesborough and Frances Shelton of Chuckey; 11 grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and her special friends: Vickie Mull, Ed and Virginia Bagwell, and Jerry and Faye Wills.

She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Martha Ann Dixon Sexton and was preceded in death by her husband: Doyle Bert Morgan; her second husband: Clark Hensley; her third husband: Bright Beals; an infant son: Gerald Morgan; two grandsons: Kenny Ray Griffin and Jerry Kelly; and a great-grandson: David Shelton Jr.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Clarence Gammill will officiate.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to Harris Memorial Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Shelton, David Shelton, Rocky Morgan, Quentin Taylor, Kermit Griffin, Bert Griffin, Bob Smith and Andy Bowman.

Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Laughlin HealthCare Center.
