Ruth Elisabeth Hensley

Died: Jan. 19, 2014

Ruth Elisabeth Hensley, 82, formerly of Franklin Mountain Road in Marshall, N.C., passed away Sunday at Takoma Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Hensley was a member of Middle Laurel Church of God.

She liked to cook and make quilts for her family and friends.

Mrs. Hensley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend and caregiver to many.

Survivors include her children and spouses: Ralph and Margie Eggermann of Greeneville, Edward and Sandra Hensley of Ephrata, Pa., and Susan and John Breth of New York; a daughter-in-law: Joan Hensley of Curwensville, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Walter and Sissy Hensley of Decatur; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and special friends.

She was a devoted wife to the late Charles "Pete" Hensley.

She was born March 2, 1931, in Wuppertal, Germany, to the late Wilhelm and Alvine Eggermann and was preceded in death by two sons: Hakim Hensley and John W. Hensley; and a granddaughter: Crystal Bloom.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Jimmy Dean Hensley and the Rev. Frankie Isley will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Eggermann, Jerry Johnson, Dedrick Franklin, Eddie Franklin, Greg Wilson, and Kevin Reigel.
