WARTBURG -- Thelma Lee Basler Davis, 73, of Wartburg, died Sunday at her home surrounded by her family.

She is survived in Greeneville by a son and his wife: John and Hope Davis.

Mrs. Davis was born August 22, 1934, in Petros.

She was a member of Stephens Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Martin and Nora Basler and the widow of Marion Glen Davis.

She was preceded in death by a son: Robert Davis; and a granddaughter.

Survivors in addition to a son and daughter-in-law listed above, she is survived by three daughters: Glenna Smith of Clinton, Shirley Hamilton of Wartburg, and Patsy Hamby and her husband, Joe, of Wartburg; five sons and their wives: Martin Ray and Betty Davis of Oliver Springs, Calvin and Michelle Davis of Harriman, Carl and Debbie Davis of Marlow, Gary and Dean Davis of Petros, and Virgil and Vicky Davis of Georgia; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jim Basler and his wife, Faye, John Basler, and Paul Basler, all of Indiana; four sisters: Jo Roberts and Betty Lemons of Harriman, Janice Lyles of Coalfield, and Loraine Brown of Oliver Springs; her stepmother: Ola Mae Daugherty of Oliver Springs; a brother-in-law and his wife: Harry and Pat Davis of Wartburg; a sister-in-law: Shelby Dagley of Midtown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

The funeral service was held at 8 o'clock Monday evening at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. "Brother" Lonnie Lowe and "Brother" Don Daugherty officiated.

A committal service was held at 11 o'clock this morning in Jonesville Cemetery in Harriman.
