Wayne Garland Died: May 7, 2008 JONESBOROUGH -- Wayne Garland, 61, of Limestone, died Wednesday at his home. "He went to be with his precious Lord and Savior," his family stated. A native of Sullivan County, Mr. Garland was a son of the late Elmer and Ruby Britt Garland. He was a brick mason and security guard. Mr. Garland was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Patsy Ann Carr Garland; one daughter and son-in-law: Wendy and the Rev. Richard Smith of Limestone; two grandchildren: Corey Allen Smith and Natasha Dawn Smith, both of Limestone; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Jim and Anne Garland, Joe and Ruth Garland, and Guy Garland, all of Johnson City, Harold and Vivian Garland of Azle, Texas, and Bob Garland of Virginia; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary Ruth and Hank Smith of Johnson City; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Judy and David McCurry, Delorise and Steve Honeycutt, and Georgia and Jimmy Keene, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; and his friends: George and Gertha Laws of Erwin and Pat Robbins of Chuckey. His best friend was his dog, "Samson." Mr. Garland was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Garland. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home and other times at the home of Wendy and Richard Smith, 257-5884. The funeral service will follow visitation at 1 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Paul Crowe and the Rev. Donnie Humphrey will officiate. Interment will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corey Smith, Jimmy Keene, David McCurry, Randy Ledford, Steve Honeycutt, Nick McCurry, Tony Garland, Darrell Garland and Kevin Garland. Honorary pallbearers will be C.W.
