Pearl Jane Chandler Died: May 12, 2008 ERWIN -- Pearl Jane Chandler, 78, of Tennessee Street, Unicoi, died Monday at Erwin Health Care Center. She is survived in Greene County by a number of relatives and friends. Mrs. Chandler was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Wolfard and Betsy Lewis Chandler. Mrs. Chandler retired in 1993 from Milligan College after 21 years of service. She was a member of Unicoi Church of God. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roscoe Chandler. Survivors include her son: Paul Chandler of Unicoi; a sister: Wilma Hensley of Johnson City; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including her best friend: Della Cousin of Erwin. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Robert Ledford Funeral Home, 720 Ohio Ave., Erwin, and other times at the home, 422 Tennessee St., Unicoi. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ronnie Holloway will officiate. A committal service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family, minister, and friends will meet at 10:50 at the cemetery.
