Charlotte Peters Died: May 16, 2008 Charlotte Anderson Peters, 94, of Greeneville, died early Friday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1927. She participated in the Mary D. Lawter Circle. Mrs. Peters graduated from Tusculum College in 1936. After graduation, she was secretary to the president of the college. Her teaching career included teaching most grades, and she taught at Chuckey-Doak, Camp Creek, Sunnyside, and DeBusk schools. Her specialty was English. Her family noted that she was an extraordinary golfer throughout her life but especially in the 1960s, with several championships and three holes-in-one. She was also an avid Bridge player. Mrs. Peters is survived by one son: Fredric Peters of Greeneville; a niece: Donna Marie Reed of Greene County; nephews: Bill Campbell of Greeneville, Jim McCord of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Carl Anderson of Memphis, Randy Adams of Detroit, Mich., John Pratt of Bristol, and special nephews Terry Anderson and Cary Anderson, both of Greeneville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Peters; her parents, Vincent and Cora Brown Anderson; three sisters: Lucy Williams, Dorothy Pickle, and Mary Campbell; and three brothers: Vincent Ted Anderson, Jay Anderson, and Lyman Anderson. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday preceding the funeral service at 1:30 in the Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Dan Donaldson will officiate. Interment will follow at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pastor Bob Brown, Charlie Pickering, Tim Goss, Bryan Reaves, Alan Kight, Terry Anderson, and Cary Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Beckner, Capt.
