By AMY ROSE Staff Writer Greeneville High School's award-winning student film "A Love Story ... Kind of ... Well ... Not Really" will be screened from 4 to 6 p.m. this afternoon, Friday, May 2, at the Kathryn W. Leonard Administrative Office. The film was the top winner April 3 at the Foothills Film Festival at Pellissippi State Technical Community College in Knoxville and received an honorable mention last week at the Nashville Film Festival. The short film was created by Team Splice, a group of GHS students in David Pauley's interactive multimedia design (IMMD) class. At the Foothills Film Festival, the team competed against teams from Maryville High School and Alcoa High School and received "Best of the Fest." The GHS team received $500 as a group, and each team member was awarded a scholarship covering full tuition and fees for two years at Pellissippi State. Members of Team Splice are Victoria Whitaker, director; Ben Clark, editor; Andy Fannon, writer/producer; Chris McKie, lighting/photography, and Andrew Arwood, sound. At the two-hour screening on Friday, the film will be shown every 15 minutes. Also shown will be two GHS student documentaries that won first place at the Foothills Film Festival -- "Teen Depression" and "Cyber Bullying." These public service announcements were created by "Team Edit," with Saraea Adams, director; Alex Dixon, editor; Daniel Harr, writer/producer; Ronda Neve, lighting/photography; and Garrett Hartman, sound. Students will be available to share their film-making experiences and discuss their projects. Nashville Festival The Nashville Film Festival was held April 17-24 at the Regal Green Hills Cinema and featured more than 200 films and dozens of events. Several celebrities were in attendance, including actors William H. Macy and Vincent D'Onofrio, for vice president Al Gore, and country music artists Trace Adkins, Josh Turner and Kenny "Big Kenny" Alphin of the duo Big and Rich.
