The plat was presented by Harry Kiker, of C.L.A.S.S. Real Estate and Auctions. The plat divides seven acres into four lots. Some of the property is outside Baileyton and thus is governed by the county planning commission rules. Anderson recommended approval and the board agreed. In an unrelated matter, Pete Burns raised an issue about road frontage and right-of-way on N. Saylor Road stemming from a subdivision plat approved by the board in last month's meeting. Charles Anderson, Baileyton's state-contract planner, said the issue Burns raised was a civil matter rather than a planning matter. Anderson said the board had already performed correctly in approving the subdivision. He recommended the board take no further action on this matter and the board agreed. Anderson then brought the commission paperwork on annexation and zoning ordinances concerning the property owned by Jason and Richard Brandon. The two brothers have requested that property located on the Baileyton Road in front of Pilot Travel Center be annexed. Anderson stated he couldn't make any recommendations regarding annexation, but he could provide the paperwork and make sure annexation requirements were met. The commission decided to proceed with annexing and with zoning the Brandon property as B-3 which permits business use. The board voted and approved to recommend to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen proceed with annexation. The last order of business was the clarifying an ordinance about flood plains. Anderson explained that anyone wanting to build or remove a structure, or fill or remove dirt from a flood plain in Baileyton must obtain a permit.
