Vera Ann Myers, a local business woman and fibromyalgia patient, is featured in the April-July edition of Fibromyalgia Aware, a national magazine that promotes awareness of the complex pain disorder.

The article is titled, "Working Through FM," and focuses on fibromyalgia patients who are succeeding in the workplace despite their illness.

In the article, Myers states how important it is to focus on the positive while fighting the pain.

"You have so many hours in a day," Myers says in the article. "You can either dwell on the negative or try to focus on the positive. I just try to focus on the positive. I want to do so much, I'm not going to let it stop me."

Myers and her husband, Eldon, own and operate Myers Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze and Myers Greenhouse in Greene County. They have one son, Ethan.

Today is being recognized nationally as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.

FM affects an estimated 8 to 10 million people of all ages in the U.S.
