The ninth annual "Living Well with Arthritis" seminar will be held Saturday, June 7, at Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The free event is open to the public. It will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Sponsored by the Mountain Empire Arthritis Association, the annual education program will present information that arthritis patients need to know about their condition, the medications they take, and the treatments available to help them cope.

Pre-registration is required by calling 636-6806.

In a joint proclamation, Greeneville Mayor Darrell Bryan and Greene County Mayor Alan Broyles have officially proclaimed June 7 as "Arthritis Awareness Day."

The proclamation says, "In Greeneville and Greene County, we urge our fellow citizens to become aware of the impact that arthritis has on our people and our economy and support the volunteers of the Mountain Empire Arthritis Association as they carry out their slogan of 'local people helping local people cope with arthritis.'
