Johnson City police on Friday arrested John H. Britt, 48, of 265 Sugar Bowl Road, Chuckey, and charged him with two counts of willful abuse.

A police press release said Britt was arrested after an investigation was conducted into the assault of a mentally challenged patient, who was entrusted to Britt's care.

Britt was ordered held in the Washington County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond pending a June 30 initial appearance in Washington County General Sessions Court.
