Event Will Have

Many Exhibtors

The "Greene County Farm and Garden Expo" will be held this Friday and Saturday, Oct/3-4, at the Greene County Fairgrounds.

The expo is planned for both full- and part-time farmers, homeowners and gardeners.

The free event has been organized by the Greene County Partnership Agribusiness Committee and title-sponsored by Farm Credit Services.

The expo is intended to help promote Greene County agriculture and Greene County agribusinesses, and educate homeowners and farmers about the government programs available to them.

The event will provide information on new programs and products as well as new farming or gardening practices.

There will be demonstrations in quilting, woodcarving, basket making, and spinning from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The University of Tennessee diagnostics lab will include weed, insect and disease identification and will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Also, an antique equipment display will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

In addition, there will be planned activities for children of all ages and Sno-Biz of Greeneville will be there.

The Greene County Angus Association's sale will also be held on Friday at the fairgrounds at 7 p.m.

There will be a trade show each day highlighting Greeneville and Greene County vendors' products and services.

Expo attendees can register for door prizes which will be given away daily.

At the end of the program on Friday, two tickets will be given away to the Agricultural & Sun Belt Ag Expo Tour in Moultrie, Ga, and on Saturday two University of Tennessee football tickets will be given away.
