Va. -- Aaron Bray went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Greeneville to a 9-3 Appalachian League victory at Princeton on Monday. The Astros pounded out a dozen hits, led by three from Jose Altuve. Ryan Humphrey had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Already up 4-1 heading into the fifth thanks to strong pitching from starter Carlos Quevedo, Greeneville put the game away with a three-run frame. Humphrey hit a two-run triple to deep center and then scored himself on a Rays throwing error on the same play to move the Astros clear 7-1 and on their way to the team's fifth victory of the year. Quevedo got the win, giving up one earned run and striking out two in five innings. The Astros (5-2) and Princeton (4-3) are back in action tonight. Greeneville's next home series begins on Thursday against division-leading Elizabethton. Copyright © 2009, The Greeneville Sun |
