Some Greene County middle school students participated in the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association state cross country meet in Knoxville last Saturday.

There were 252 runners in the girls race. Top finisher among the local contingent was Autumn Mabe of Chuckey-Doak Middle who finished 98th in a time of 15:28. Other finishers were Candy Majors of Mosheim Middle (15:33), Kelsi Cox of Greeneville Middle (16:11), Megan Cole of Greeneville Middle (16:34) and Liela Robertsen of Mosheim Middle (17:05).

There were 260 runners in the boys' race. Wesley Pectol of Greeneville Middle finished 31st in a time of 12:48.
