The Greene County Heritage Trust's 37th annual "Early American Christmas Dinner" will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the General Morgan Inn.

Tickets for the dinner are $30. They may be purchased from Heritage Trust board members or at the Greeneville-Greene County Library.

The evening's speaker will be Dr. Marion Lane, who is serving as Inspector General of the Society of the Descendants of Washington's Army at Valley Forge.

Dr. Lane is a renowned educator who has recently retired as a special education supervisor for Bucks County, Pa.

Recognized as an articulate communicator, she has presented programs in Singapore, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and England.

Six generations of Dr. Lane's family have served in the U.S. military, serving during the American Revolution, Civil War and World War II.

Dr. Lane is on the boards of Neighborhood First, Today Inc., and The Friends of Valley Forge Historical Park.

The seated traditional dinner will begin at 7 p.m., preceded by reception with punch served in the hotel's lobby at 6:30 p.m.

The Heritage Trust, which works to preserve the history of this community, will be presenting awards that evening to organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in that regard.

The Early American Candlelight Christmas Dinner is the Heritage Trust's primary fundraising effort. Its historic restoration projects are dependent on funds raised from the dinner.

The annual Heritage Trust dinner always attracts a capacity crowd of close to 200 guests.
