Sun Photo by Phil Gentry These aerial photos taken on Monday show the extent of work being done for the runway realignment project at the Greeneville-Greene County Municipal Airport. Workers with Baker Construction have been clearing the way for a runway extension, visible in the red-clay areas of these photos. The company plans to complete as much work as possible before breaking for the winter. Then, work will resume in the spring and likely be turned over to Summers-Taylor Inc. in late spring for the actual runway extension and paving. The project is designed to remove a "hump" near the center of the runway that for years has caused a line-of-sight problem for pilots.
