Nolachuckey and Ottway claimed doubleheader wins in Greene County Elementary Basketball action Thursday night.

Nolachuckey beat West Pines while Ottway downed Glenwood. Baileyton and Mosheim split two games. No report was received by presstime on the McDonald vs. Camp Creek games.

BLAZERS WIN THRILLER

West Pines paid a visit to Nolachuckey Thursday and the Blazers came away with wins.

The Nolachuckey girls won 49-28, pulling away to a 27-8 lead at intermission. Alora Ricker pumped in 20 points and Lindsey Cutshaw added 10 for the Blazers. Shayna Harmon and Lauren Baxter each scored eight for the visiting Panthers.

The boys game was a classic, going two extra periods before the Blazers escaped with a 53-50 victory. The game was tight from the start, with Nolachuckey up 27-25 at halftime but the contest was tied at 46-46 at the close of regulation. Each team score a point in the first overtime, with Nolachuckey getting the upper hand in the second extra frame.

Todd Neas fired in 19 and Cody Robinson 16 for Nolachuckey. Zack Potter had 18 and Dustin Weems 16 for the Panthers.

MOSHEIM, DRAGONS SPLIT

The Mosheim girls and Baileyton boys came out winners in a twin-bill Thursday night at the Mosheim gym.

Mosheim's girls won 30-26 as Megan Lamb scored 11 points. Mendy McNeese fired in 16 points for Baileyton.

Baileyton led throughout the first half, holding a 16-11 halftime edge. But Mosheim came out with a 13-5 run in the third quarter to take command of the game.

The Baileyton boys won 47-27, thanks to an impressive third period when they scored 28 points to pull away from a 19-15 halftime edge.

Zach O'Neil was high scorer with nine points for the balanced Dragons. Tyler Early had 10 points and Trevor Wilson nine points and 12 rebounds for Mosheim.

OTTWAY BEATS GLENWOOD

Ottway welcomed Glenwood to the Eagles' Nest Thursday and won both ends of a doubleheader.

Ottway took the girls game 34-28 as McKenzie Reynolds scored 17 points. Tracy Renner had 11 points for the Chiefs.

The homestanding Eagles led 14-13 at halftime but the score was knotted heading into the final period. Ottway won the fourth quarter and took the game.

Ottway's boys took a 28-14 win, thanks to a strong first half when they outscored Glenwood 23-10. Austin Johnson had 11 points for the winners, while Glenwood got seven points from Trey Brown.
