A Greene County man was charged on Tuesday with theft over $1,000 and theft under $500 in connection with the theft of a purse and a pickup truck from his mother.

Shawn J. Hicks, 27, of 285 Birchwood Lane, was charged by Deputy Sheriff Mark McLain in connection with the May 13 theft of a purse, which contained $300, and a 1997 Ford pickup truck owned by his mother, according to arrest warrants.

Bond for Hicks was set at $11,000. He was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on May 14.
