Sun Photo by Jim Feltman
Construction has been moving steadily forward on what will be a Walgreens pharmacy and store at the intersection of Tennessee Rte. 70 (Asheville Highway) and U.S. Rte. 321 (Newport Highway). A company spokesperson said what will be the second Walgreens in Greeneviille is expected to open about the end of August. She said the store will have about 25 employees, and those wishing to be considered for employment should go online at walgreens.com, then click to the careers section for information on applying. The 14,738-square-foot store is being constructed by John W. Abbott Construction Co., of Asheville, N.C. for a Johnson City company, Ed Street Development, which will lease the building to Walgreens.
