It's Little League All-Star time, and Greeneville will host two district tournaments during the coming week.
Greeneville's Hardin Park will be the site for the District Four 9-10 Little League Tournament which will include eight teams, including two home town teams, Greeneville National and Greeneville American.
The tournament will open on Saturday at both Optimist and Rotary Fields with two games at each location. South Jefferson plays Smoky Mountain at 6 p.m. at Optimist with Greeneville National meeting Jefferson City at 8 p.m. At Rotary, Greeneville American plays Morristown National at 6 p.m., with Morristown American going against Rogersville at 8 p.m.
Greeneville will also host the Senior Girls (15-16) Softball Tournament, which starts Monday at Hardin Park's Old Field. Morristown plays Smoky Mountain at 7 p.m. Greeneville plays the winner of that game on Tuesday, July 1, at 7 p.m.
In other tournaments involving Greeneville teams:
*The 11-year-old Little League Tournament will be played at Dandridge at Grace Shrader Park. Greeneville's National plays Monday at 7:45 against Newport.
*The 12-year-old Little League Tournament will be played in Morristown at Popkin Field. Greeneville has two teams playing. Greeneville American plays Monday at 6 p.m. against Smoky Mountain, while Greeneville National plays Monday at 7:30 against Jefferson City.
*The 13-14 year-old Junior Little League Tournament is at City Park in Rogersville. Greeneville plays Monday at 6 p.m. against Morristown National.
*The 15-16 year-old Tournament is at Jefferson City at George Mims Field. Greeneville and Jefferson County are the only two teams involved, and they'll play a doubleheader Monday night starting at 6 p.m. in the best two-of-three series.
*The 9-10 year-old Softball Tournament is at Morristown's Frank Lorino Park. Greeneville plays Friday night against Smoky Mountain at 6 p.m.
*The 11-12 year-old Softball District is at Cocke County High School in Newport. Greeneville plays Friday at 8 p.m. against Smoky Mountain.
*The 13-14 year-old Softball District is at Frank Lorino Park in Morristown with only two teams, Greeneville and Morristown, playing. They will meet for a doubleheader Tuesday, July 1, beginning at 6 p.m. in the best two-of-three series.
