Dustin Morrow, a recent graduate of Tusculum College and a member of the Pioneers' baseball team, has been named the new baseball coach at Chuckey-Doak High School.
Morrow will replace TimLady, who resigned his position at the end of last season following a long and successful stint as coach of the Black Knights.
"We're proud to have a person of Dustin's caliber as our new baseball coach," Chuckey-Doak Principal George Frye said in making the announcement today. "We feel he'll be able to continue the tradition of good baseball at Chuckey-Doak."
Frye said Morrow would teach math and also serve as an assistant football coach for the Black Knights.
Morrow, a Lexington, Ky., native, batted .373 for the Pioneers this past season in 28 games. An injury cut his senior season short. He was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America with a grade point average of 3.94.
