If you're looking for a place to celebrate Independence Day, there are a host of events going on throughout the region.
The first event will be taking place Thursday evening in Greeneville.
Following the Greeneville Astros' 7 p.m. game at Pioneer Park a fireworks display will be held, presented by Marsh Petroleum, Kwik-Stop and Landair.

A major highlight in Greeneville on Friday, July 4, will be two performances of the patriotic Little Theatre of Greeneville production, "Kilroy Was Here," at The Capitol Theatre.
One performance is scheduled for 1 p.m., the second for 7:30 p.m.
Other Independence Day celebrations planned in the region:
* Gatlinburg - You can be among the first in the nation to attend an Independence Day parade when the City of Gatlinburg hosts its 33rd annual Midnight Independence Day Parade. The parade will start at the stroke of midnight on Friday, July 4, in downtown Gatlinburg and will feature a special tribute to our nation's military.
Later in the day, the mountain town will host its annual River Raft Regatta at noon, beginning at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, and a Fourth of July Fireworks Grand Finale at 10:30 p.m. The fireworks will be visible on the Parkway from Applebee's to the Skylift, organizers say.
* Pigeon Forge -- American Idol fans will be treated to an appearance by finalist Ace Young during Pigeon Forge's 18th annual Fourth of July celebration concert at Patriot Park.
This free event, which begins at 5 p.m., will also feature musical performances by: Good Charlotte, Metro Station, Menudo and Boys Like Girls. Visit www.MyPigeonforge.com/Patriot for more details.
* Rogersville - The town of Rogersville is planning a huge celebration on the Fourth of July, which will include a free concert by country group Diamond Rio.
The day's events kick off with a parade in downtown Rogersville beginning at noon. All events will then shift to Rogerville City Park at 1 p.m. when the exhibits and food booths open and the music begins with rocker Clint Clinton, of Knoxville.
A variety of musicians from country to gospel to southern rock will perform throughout the afternoon, ending with Diamond Rio at 8:30 p.m and a fireworks show at 10 p.m. All events, including the concert, are free. Visit www.rogersvillejuly4th.com for more details.
* Jonesborough - The three-day, annual "Jonesborough Days" celebration will kick off on Friday, July 4 with a variety of activities, including a parade down Boone and Main streets, beginning at 10 a.m.
The festival will feature music, crafts, art exhibits, a Civil War encampment, a petting zoo, a farmer's market, and much more, including theatrical performances of the children's classic "Charlotte's Web" at the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre. Performance times are July 4 at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.; July 5 at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and July 6 at 2:30 p.m.
A fireworks display, accompanied by the Johnson City Community Concert Band, will begin around 10 p.m. outside the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center.
* Johnson City -- The 23rd annual Pepsi Independence Days Fireworks Celebration will be presented by Food City on Friday, July 4 on the grounds of Freedom Hall Civic Center.
Park and ride shuttles will be provided to the site from East Tennessee State University and Winged Deer Park from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. Shuttle service will resume at 10:20 p.m. to return patrons to their cars.
Musical entertainment begins at 5 p.m.
Country music performer April Taylor and the Greenbriar Bluegrass Band will perform from 5:45 to 8 p.m. A military flyover will follow at 8:15 p.m. Fireworks will start around 9:55 p.m.
Musical entertainment will continue until 11 p.m.

* Knoxville - The 24th annual Pilot Independence Day Pops Concert will be presented on Friday, July 4, beginning at 8 p.m., at World's Fair Park on the South Lawn. Admission is free.
The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform a variety of patriotic and classical favorites during the outdoor show, which will end with a 20-minute fireworks display.
* Warrensburg -- The Greene County community of Warrensburg will host an Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 5, beginning with a parade at 1 p.m., at Ma-Tom-Ba Holstein Farm, located at 390 River Rock Lane, in Midway.
Other activities will incude: gospel and bluegrass music, a cakewalk, food and an auction.
The parade will feature antique tractors and cars, the local volunteer fire department, horses, wagons, buggies, election candidates and more, organizers say.

* Bristol Motor Speedway - The World's Fastest Half-Mile will celebrate America's independence on Saturday, July 5 with racing and fireworks.
Gates open at 6 p.m. On-track action begins at 7 p.m. with a 25-lap Pro Challenge race, followed by a 15-lap Charger event. The UARA Stars will then hit the track for the Thompson Metal 150, followed by the stunt Truck Jump Fireball Spectacular.
A fireworks presentation, which will be synchronized to music, will follow.
Admission is $15 adults, free children 12 and under. Pit passes available for $35. No one under 15 will be admitted in the pits.

* Rocky Mount Museum - Rocky Mount Living History Museum in Piney Flats will be celebrating Independence Day the way its was honored in the 1700s.
At 1 p.m., on Friday, reenactor Jerry Allen Sayers, portraying Attorney General William Cocke, will read the Declaration of Independence and the militia will shoot a volley using 18th century style flintlock muskets and rifles.
Special activities will be held throughout the day, including tours of the site from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
