Source: The Greeneville Sun Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park will be
hosting its annual "Crockett Days" celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16 and
17. Activities at the park near Limestone will include living history
re-enactors in period dress demonstrating skills and crafts "that were necessary for the survival of
our pioneer ancestors on the western frontier as well as Native American peoples who lived here long
before the pioneer era." Park Rangers Mark Halback said, "Come join us at
Davy Crockett Birthplace as we celebrate our region's rich cultural
history." Music will be provided by the Roan Mountain Moonshiners and
food services by Sno-Biz and Timbos of Greeneville. There is no admission
charge. For more information, call the park office at 423-257-2167.
