INDIANAPOLIS -- Allen Johnson has qualified number one in Pro Stock at the U.S. Nationals.
Johnson lowered the mark on three straight days of qualifying, settling in with a 6.634 at 207.18 mph to earn his first career pole at Indy, the NHRA's most prestigious event.
"To do anything here at Indy to get your name in the record books, I can't explain how good it feels," said Johnson, who earned his second No. 1 of the season and fifth of his career. "It's a dream of everybody's to win Indy. It would rank up there with winning a championship."
