Bond of Carter was set at $1,250. He was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 5.

Burglary, Assault Reported -- A report filed Sept.1 by Deputy Sheriff Nakia Tweed said a Susong Memorial Road man told officers that he had been attacked inside his home by two men he didn't know when he returned home.

The report said the victim told deputies that one of his assailants struck him with a wall-mounted mirror and that he was kicked by his assailants after he fell to the floor.

Both assailants fled, apparently without taking anything from the victim's residence, according to the report.

Tools Stolen -- An Old Baileyton Road resident told Deputy Sheriff Charles Jessie about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 4 that someone had stolen a tool box, assorted tools and a gasoline can from his residence.

In addition, according to the report, someone had placed a "foreign substance" in the gasoline tank of the victim's mower.

The loss was estimated at about $700, while damage to the mower was listed at $1,000.
