Claire Tucker, a former Greeneville resident who heads CapStar Bank, a new bank in Nashville, will be honored there on Oct. 28.

She is among seven Nashville women who will be inducted into the YWCA Academy for Women of Achievement at a celebratory dinner.

Tucker, a graduate of Greeneville High School, is the daughter of former Greene County Bank President Herbert Whitfield and his wife, Ruth, of Greeneville. She is the sister of Chuck Whitfield, president and CEO of Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She earned a bachelor's degree at Tennessee Wesleyan College and a master's degee at the University of Tennessee.

In July, CapStar Bank opened an office and began operations in downtown Nashville.

CapStar Bank raised $88 million in start-up capital, which is believed to make it the highest capitalized start-up bank in Tennessee history.
