Torrey Smith, 30, of 101 Barnes St., Fall Branch,
was charged on Tuesday, Oct. 7, by Johnson City police with 22 counts of fraudulent use of a credit
card under $500 and theft of property over $1,000.
The arrest was the
result of an investigation in which Smith had used a business credit card issued to Petsmart at 22
businesses in the Johnson City area to make personal charges, a police report said.
Smith is a former employee of Petsmart who failed to turn in his credit
card at the time his employment was discontinued, the release said.
Smith is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center
in lieu of a $32,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court
today for an arraignment.
