Jewelry Stolen -- A report filed by GPD Officer Jeff Sowers about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday said a resident of Remington Court told him that someone had stolen jewelry valued at $4,200 from her residence. A suspect was named.
Shotgun Stolen -- A River Road resident told Sheriff's Lt. Wesley Holt about 12:40 a.m. Oct. 10 that he had discovered that someone had forced open the rear door of his residence while he was away, had ransacked its interior and had stolen a single-shot shotgun and about $100 in loose change.
The report estimated the loss at about $350. Damage to the rear door was estimated at another $200.
Domestic Assault Charged -- Thomas Forga, 35, of 309 Locust Street, was charged about 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 10, with domestic assault by GPD Officer Clifford Lawing.
An arrest warrant filed by Officer Lawing indicated that Forga was charged after police responded to a report of an abandoned call to 911 from his residence.
On arrival there, according to the warrant, officers were told Forga had assaulted his girlfriend.
He was ordered held without bond pending an Oct. 10 initial appearance in General Sessions Court.
Purse Stolen -- A 15-year-old Chuckey-Doak High School student told Resource Officer Kenneth Bitner about 8:15 a.m. Oct. 7 that between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 someone stole her purse and its contents from a locker room at the school.
The report estimated the value of the purse and its contents at about $320.
Rifle Stolen -- An Anest Road man told Deputy Sheriff Greg Tipton about 1:25 p.m. Thursday that someone had stolen a .22-cal. rifle from his residence between Sept. 1 and Sept. 30. The missing firearm, brand unknown, was valued at about $250, according to the report.
DUI Charged -- Bruce K. McEachern, 25, of 70 Rheatown Cemetery Road, was charged about 8:40 a.m. Thursday by GPD Officer Jeff Sowers with DUI after a traffic stop on the East Andrew Johnson Highway at Morgan Road. Bond for McEachern was set at $1,000. He was scheduled to appear today in General Sessions Court.
