Several people,
including Greeneville High School's quarterback, were charged with DUI over the
weekend.
Jordan Ryan Greenway, 18, of 300 Colonial Circle, was charged
after an 8:39 p.m. Saturday traffic accident in which he lost control of his motorcycle in the 300
block of East Church Street, according to a report and arrest warrant filed by GPD Lt. Mike
Crum.
Greenway, the starting quarterback of the Greeneville High School
football team, was transported by a Greene County-Greeneville Emergency Medical Services ambulance
to Takoma Regional Hospital, according to a police report.
The report said
he was treated for injuries and released from the hospital.
The report
said Greenway had lost control of a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle while negotiating a
curve.
The motorcycle had struck a curb, causing Greenway to "lay it
down," according to the report.
When Lt. Crum reached the accident,
according to the arrest warrant, he found Greenway lying on the ground beside the overturned
motorcycle.
While speaking with Greenway, the report said, Lt. Crum
allegedly noticed the odor of alcohol.
Greenway was released from custody
after a $1,000 bond was posted on his behalf pending an initial appearance on the DUI charge in
General Sessions Court today.
