This photo of the mountains was taken Tuesday afternoon looking south past the Asheville Highway. Up to an inch of snow accumulated in the higher elevations of Greene County overnight on Thursday but produced only a slight dusting of snow elsewhere. Gusty winds and some snow flurries were predicted for today, with the high temperature forecast to be 33 degrees. The National Weather Service predicts a low of 16 degrees in Greeneville tonight, with temperatures warming Saturday and Sunday along with sunny skies.
