C-E Minerals Teco Plant, at 1625 Snapps Ferry Road, has laid off some workers but hopes to bring them back as soon as business picks up.

That was the word this week from Scott Gradduck, the company's vice president of operations who is based in Andersonville, Ga., where C-E Minerals has another plant.

Gradduck said the C-E Minerals plant in December had laid off 85 employees and said the majority are still working, "but a few have been laid off."

C-E Minerals manufactures fused silica in a variety of grains and sizes.
