A Greene County man whose license had been
suspended in General Sessions Court on Wednesday for failing to satisfy outstanding citations on
Wedneday night was charged with driving on a suspended license.
An arrest
warrant filed by Sheriff's Lt. Wesley Holt said he charged Billy Ray Mathes, 27, of 411 Pocahantas
Street, Mosheim, with driving on a suspended license following an 11:15 p.m. Wednesday traffic stop
on Sinking Springs Road.
The warrant, and a note attached to it,
indicated that Mathes had been stopped on Sept. 4 for a registration violation and was driving the
same car, with the same license plate, when Lt. Holt observed the vehicle on Sinking Springs Road on
Wednesday night.
A note written by Holt indicated he was aware that
Mathes' license had been suspended in General Sessions Court on
Wednesday.
Bond for Mathes was set at $1,000. He was scheduled to appear
on Friday in General Sessions Court.
