Greeneville's bowling teams traveled to Rogersville Wednesday and came away with a pair convincing victories (boys 22-5, girls 23-4) over Cherokee.
Greeneville's boys split individual points with the Chiefs in game one but came away with a 5-3 lead, while holding on to a slim 35-pin advantage. Greeneville was lead by Justin Miller (210), Dylan Walsh (175), and James Ricker (160). Cherokee was paced by Daniel Drinnon with a 179.
The Greene Devils pulled away in the second and third games by taking five individual points in each game and claiming the team points in both. Top bowlers for the Greene Devils in the final two games were Ricker (185 & 172) andWalsh (160, 150).
Greeneville ended the match with a 2637 series to Cherokee's 2339. Greeneville's record now stands at 5-0 in the conference, while Cherokee falls to 4-3.
The Lady Devils started off the first game with a 6-2 lead, but held claim to only a 56-pin advantage. Lydia Cogburn paced Greeneville with a 142, while Jessica Cadwalader came in with a 134 for Cherokee. Games two and three sealed the win for Greeneville as they would collect 14 additional points to Cherokee's 2.
Cogburn continued a good series collecting games of 163 and 120, while Jennifer Waldroupe (139, 154, 140) and Brittany Hensley (185) each came in close behind. Greeneville finished the day with a 2371 series to the Lady Chief's 2075.
Greeneville's record goes to 4-1 (and keeps pace with Chuckey Doak atop the conference standings), while Cherokee falls to 3-4.
Greeneville hosts Cherokee on Tuesday.
