$20,000 Damage
A kerosene heater may have caused a fire Saturday night that seriously damaged a residence at 704 Lamons Road in western Greene County.
A neighbor reported hearing a "loud bang" from the residence owned by Sermon and Linda Lawson about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a report by Deputy Greg Tipton.
When the neighbor looked outside, he saw that the single-wide mobile home (with two additions) was on fire.
Units of the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
Firefighters later said the fire may have resulted from a kerosene heater inside the residence.
No injuries reported, but damage was estimated at $20,000, the report said.
