Organizers of an effort to send holiday care packages to local Army Reservists who are serving in Iraq say they need help in packing the care packages.
Sandra Wells, who is heading up the drive, said the packages will be packed at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Gray on Saturday.
She said students in the Natural Science Department at the Walters State Community College campus collected a van-load of items for distribution to the deployed soldiers.
WSCC also donated $360 raised by college students to aid in shipping care packages to Iraq.
"Please let everyone know that we still need more supplies, phone cards and snacks," Wells wrote. "If anyone would like to help pack the boxes, please call me at (828) 429-5034 or (423) 638-6222."
Wells said she hopes the packages will be mailed on Monday, Nov. 9.
