Greeneville traveled to west Knoxville Monday afternoon to take on Region 2 opponent Knox Catholic. Unfortunately for the Greene Devils, the Irish would sweep both matches and send the Devils home with a 10-2 record on the season.

The boys game saw two of the best teams in East Tennessee square off and neither team would disappoint. Game one saw both teams split the individual points with Greeneville holding on to a 5-3 lead by virtue of an 1149 to 1126 pin count. Ethan Jones came in with a 226, while Justin Miller rolled a 202, Dylan Walsh a 198, and James Ricker a 189. Andrew Long was tops for Catholic with a 236 and Bradley Cheek a 217.

Game two was almost a mirror image of the first as both teams would once again split the individual points, but this time, Catholic would tie the score up at 10 points each with the help of a 1149 to 1096 pin fall. Dylan Walsh paced Greeneville with a 214, followed by Justin Miller with a 198 and James Ricker's 191. Andrew Long (212), Jackson Kirkpatrick (204), and Bradley Cheek (201) led the Irish.

Holding on to a slim 30-pin advantage, the Irish would only take two individual points in the third game, while the Greene Devils would take four. The difference in the match would come down to the five team points (two for game three and the final three for the series), which Catholic was awarded. Caleb Nunn, Ethan Jones, Scott Eriksen, and Justin Miller all had games over 180, while Andrew Long continued the hot hand for Catholic with a 225 (giving him a 673 series for the day). Despite rolling a season high (3271), the Greene Devils would come up short 15-12.

The girls match saw the two leaders in their respective regions square off and things would go all Catholic's way. The first game saw Catholic jump out to a commanding 7-1 lead and never look back while en route to the 23-4 win.

Brittany Hensley would lead the Lady Devils with a 502 series (including a season high 202), followed by Summer Garber (149, 184, 128) and Tori Sell (135, 115, 138). Lori East was the leading bowler for the Lady Irish with a 590 series (180, 201, 209).

Greeneville will be at home this afternoon in a conference doubleheader with Cumberland Gap.
